Music on impulse

I have to admit that iTunes has really made a difference in my music purchasing habits. It used to be that I would never buy an album unless I really liked at least 2 or 3 songs on the disc. Now with iTunes I don’t have that restriction. If there is a song I hear and like I find myself looking for it on iTunes and more often than not if it has been recorded by more than one artist I end up buying the different versions of it. It has really made my collection more eclectic, but I think thats a good thing honestly.

Tonight I was watching CNN, and they were doing yet another story on the flood victems and in the background a tune caught my attention. One that I have heard a few times before but never looked up. Well a quick google search revealed it was “Send Me on My Way” by a band called “Rusted Root“. Another quick search in iTunes told me that they have 8 different versions of it. I picked the one off their album “Cruel Sun” and a few seconds later the download was complete and off I went.

Silly People :-)

Today on my way to work I was sitting at a stop sign waiting for a break in traffic so I could make my turn. As I was waiting a semi went past with one of those long flat bed trailers used to carry construction equipment. Normally I wouldn’t even think twice about it and it certainly wouldn’t be worth mentioning here. However as it was passing I noticed the trailer was indeed hauling construction equipment. Centered on this trailer and strapped down as if it was the real thing, was one of the large Tonka dump trucks. I about died laughing.

Mr. Trucker guy with the great sense of humor, THANK YOU! You definitly made my morning brighter.

Bump on a log

Today I have managed to accomplish absolutely nothing productive. Well unless you count making cinnamon rolls from a can, heating a frozen pizza, and watching CNN all day productive. Having watched CNN all day I can nearly recite the featured news stories they are playing today becasue I have seen them all 9 times. Why havn’t you changed the channel you could ask? Well I have changed it, but there is absolutly nothing on. Ok well absolutly nothing isn’t exactly true… There are some things on, in fact LOTR is on WGN but my feelings about that is, why watch it when I have it on DVD commercial free. Although at the moment the receiver / switcher for the stereo is damaged and drops the picture after a while. So I can’t just toss in the DVD and watch it.
In some sense it was nice not doing anything today, but still I feel guilty that I’ve basically wasted the entire day. I have numerous projects I need to be working on around the house, and yet I chose to waste the day. <SIGH>

Meow!

I received an e-mail tonight from Marc Gunn. It seems the “Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers” CD is done. 🙂 He will be getting it in about two weeks and so it will be about three for me. But theres no need to wait that long for me to hear it 😀 Thanks to the wonders of technology I’m listening to it right now and and enjoying every minute of it. I’ve listened to 9 of the 15 tracks and so far my favorite is “A Cat Named Rover”. I’ll post more once I listen to the whole CD, but now it’s bed time.
