Narnia

As of today I have now seen “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe” twice. I am pleased to say I really enjoyed it both times.

[SPOILER ALERT]

I saw a few things in the movie that caught my attention. These things hint to the other stories. I really hope they go through with making the other pictures.

First off, I am 99% certain there is a picture of the “Dawn Treader” in one of the bedrooms. You can see it in the scene where Lucy and Edmond wake up Peter and Susan to tell them about visiting Narnia. The painting is contained in a red and golden frame that is certainly Narnian in design. The colors match up with the armor colors worn in the battle.

Second I am almost positive that Mrs. MacCready, while driving the carrage called the professor “Professor Digorey”.

Third I noticed that the professor filled his pipe with tobacco from an apple shaped container. I think the apple was a direct reference to the apple brought back to cure Digorey’s mother in “The Magicians Nephew.” The door of the wardrobe is decorated with an apple tree, indicitive of the tree it was made from. I can’t remember for sure but I believe that detail was mentioned in that book as well.
