Day: July 2, 2006
four and a half hours
I jsut had to take my aunt to pick up prescriptions… Now I don’t mind running a few errands, really I don’t. Here is where thigns get insane thgouh… She has prescriptions at multiple pharmacys. The local ones took us 30 minutes or so to take care of, after the hour and ten it took to get her ready to go. The remainder of the prescriptions are at a pharmacy ove an hour away. Why are they at this pharmacy you may ask? I asked. I asked numerous times. It’s becasue she likes the pharmacist. “He’s nice to me.” Ok, so… when we got there the store isnt easily hanicapped accessable, its in a bad neighborhood, and she never even spoke to the pharmacist. Not to mention she forgot to call in a number of the prescriptions so someone wil ahve to take her back there in a day or so for MORE…
One of the resons I inisited I’d take her today was to pay close careful attention to her condition. There is ABSOLUTLY NO WAY she can be living on her own. There is also absolutly no way she can live here. When I got to her house she was sitting in her chair in her living room watching TV. Only after I got there did she even considder gettign ready. At that point she had to call in the prescriptions. She couldn’t find half of them. Her method of organizing her prescriptions… they are all tossed in a halloween bucket she keeps by her bed. Well all that will fit in it anyway. There’s empty bottles, there’s half empty bottles, there’s over the counter stuff, it’s a mess. While we were out I nearly had to carry her to the restroom becasue she was to unstable to walk. She needed prompting to be able to fill out the checks she was writing. “No, your name goes there…”
This is NOT looking good…
