Still no iPod… You know it’s funny, I resisted the idea of owning an iPod for so damn long, and now I’m going stir crazy without it… Funny…
A few weeks ago I noticed a pub/restaurant that can be on my way home, that has Open Mic night on Tuesdays. I’ve gone every Tuesday night since. It’s enjoyable, I was hoping there would be some folk music, so far there hasn’t been but it is all acoustic. So far it hasn’t chased me off, and it’s nice to have something to go to that’s close. People have already learned my name, and have been really friendly, and welcoming even though all I do is sit and listen. (ok, yeah I do sing along from my seat)
Wow, its late, I should get to bed…
Ok, I am totally out of touch with current gamer culture I guess. I just noticed the following in the marketing blurb for a high end graphics card.
“…watch your characters sweat with Shader Model 4.0.”
I can honestly say, I have never in my life thought that sweating looked cool. I can honestly say that I have no desire whatsoever to watch a human sweat, let alone a computer generated character.
I beat the Subspace Emissary on smash brothers brawl for the Wii. That was enjoyable. Now, I went through the normal brawl with Sonic, and had cartoon link come after me, but sadly his a tough cookie, and I lost… I’ll have to bone up on Sonics moves before I try for him again…

IT was going to be one of Rabbit’s busy days. As soon as he
woke up he felt important, as if everything depended upon him.
It was just the day for Organizing Something, or for Writing a
Notice Signed Rabbit, or for Seeing What Everybody Else Thought
About It. It was a perfect morning for hurrying round to Pooh,
and saying, “Very well, then, I’ll tell Piglet,” and then going
to Piglet, and saying, “Pooh thinks–but perhaps I’d better see
Owl first.” It was a Captainish sort of day, when everybody
said, “Yes, Rabbit ” and “No, Rabbit,” and waited until he had
told them.
You scored as Rabbit!
ABOUT RABBIT: Rabbit is generally considered Clever by his many friends and relations. He is actually a much better reader and writer than Owl, but he doesn’t consider it worth mentioning. Instead, Rabbit’s real talent lies in Organizing Plans. He organizes rescue parties, makes schemes to reduce Tigger’s bounciness, and goes on missions to find out what Christopher Robin does when he’s not at the Hundred Acre Woods. Sometimes, however, his Plans do not always go as Planned.
WHAT THIS SAYS ABOUT YOU: You are smart, practical and you plan ahead. People sometimes think that you don’t stress or worry, but this is not the case. You are the kind of person who worries in a practical way. You think a) What are my anxieties about and b)what can be done about them? No useless fretting for you. You don’t see the point in sitting around and waiting for things to work out, when you could actually work them out today and save yourself a lot of time and worry. Your friends tend to rely on you, because they know that they can trust you help them work things out.
You sometimes tend to be impatient with people who are less practical in their ways. You don’t have much patience for idiots who moan about things but never actually DO anything about them. You have high expectations of everyone, including yourself. When you don’t succeed at something, or when something goes wrong despite your best efforts to prevent it, you can get quite hard on yourself. You need to cut yourself some slack and accept that everyone has their faults, even you, and THAT IS OKAY. Let yourself be faulty, every now and then, for the sake of your own sanity.

The caroling party was a lot of fun. The few pictures I took are up. We sang a lot of songs and I think everyone had a good time. As always there was lots of food, we don’t have a party without gluttony 🙂
The caroling also left room for some hijynks including some snowball fights, and a bit of wrestling in the snow by the ladies of Bounding Main.
I’m home safe, the normally 3.5 hour route home from port, by way of the girlfriends house, took an extra hour due to the weather. Boy am I glad we left at 8 when we did.
Thank You to those who contacted me, a meetup was just not in the cards. The parade, and post parade activities turned into an all night event. 🙂 I’m really glad she went with, it was fun having her there.
I’ll post more, when I have slept… But WOW was this a fun trip, and worth it.

Have fun folks 🙂
This past Saturday found me in my Pirate garb in Grafton, WI for the Grafton Holiday Parade. The Port Washington Pirate fest had asked for costumed volunteers, so I volunteered. I got up at 7, I had set the alarm for 6 but must have flailed in the middle of the night and turned it off. I made a mad dash to shower and dress, and get out the door by 7:30. I made it to Grafton by 10:15 and as I was getting out of the car I was greeted by Tom, A-E, and Chloe. We then walked to the lineup point and waited for others to show. Step off time for the parade was at 11 a.m. and were were float number 89. I think we stepped off around 11:30 or so. I had a blast riling up the crowd. I gave out 80 mini candy canes in the first 1/3 of the parade. I was also handing out flyers for the pirate fest and I know I handed out hundreds of them. I’m not sure how many came in a box (I’m guessing 1000) but I think between us all we handed out about 1 and 3/4 boxes. It was really a great time, and I look forward to the next parade Dec, 8th. On the way home I stopped and had dinner with Carl and Juli, then home to relax.
