More of the same

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything family related. Mostly because I’ve been busy and have removed myself from any possibility of hearing anything. Sadly, tonight, the first night I have been home in daylight since last Wednesday that reprieve came to an end. Shortly after arriving home the phone rang and it was my cousin. Palley, my mother, answered the phone at the same time I did, when I heard the voice on the other end, I hung up, not wanting anything to do with my cousin. The conversation didn’t last very long but what I did over hear from the other end of the house involved my cousin’s oldest kid, who is incarcerated, having been beat down yet again.
Not long after the call ended the phone rang again. The electronic voice asked us to accept the charges for a collect call from the detention center where my cousins son was being held… Big surprise… We accepted the charges…
Shortly after the call began I was asked to pick up the receiver, as he likes to talk to me. I did, and he started to explain the whole “beat down” situation. The details and reasons of which I will not get into here but it’s nothing that I didn’t expect to happen…
After the description of that situation was over he brought up that his mother was going to come visit him. She has no car of her own, and has been insisting on using Palley’s car. Palley informed him to not get his hopes up because her car is not in good shape, and they couldn’t come last week because it was in the garage being worked on.
His response? “Why won’t you just co-sign for her!”
“What?!”, I jumped in. I immediately analyzed the situation and realized what con was going on.
“Why wont she co-sign? Because your mother has never paid a debt shes owes once in her life ”
At this he immediately back pedaled and changed the subject.
I just cannot get over her… He has had a horrible life, shes been responsible for a lot of it, and yet she still can’t help using him…
I just want to scream every time I hear anything that goes on with her…

Fight #1

Well, so far the fight count stands at one.

Every so often since Halloween Palley has asked me to get physical pictures made from Halloween.   I kept telling her I would, and decided that I woudl put them in an album and give them to her as a Christmas Gift.  (I thought about doing some sort of scrap book thing, but I know nothing about scrap booking)  So I went ahead and selected all of what I thought were the best pictures from the night and made prints.   I then hunted through half a dozen stores to find what I thgouth was a nice albulm to put them in.   It was nothign fancy, but it was soemthign she had been asking me for.

When she opened it the response was,  “Ohhh! oh good now I can finally get copies made.”   “Uh, if you want extras, let me just re-print them, making copies from the prints is not going to be as good as the original files.” “Why do you need extra copies?”  “Well I told you I want to send them to Micheal.” “No you didn’t.”  “Of course I did, thats the whole reason I wanted them was because he wanted to see them.” “Ok, whatever… I’m pretty sure you never mentioned that though”  “Of course I did, you just have to many things goign on and never remember these things.”  “Whatever” “Oh good grief, don’t start!”

So, turns out she didn’t want the pictures for anything other than to give to Micheal.  Should have known…

Wow what a day

Today was . An administrator had wiped and re-installed windows on a laptop they were getting rid of, but they couldn’t get the WiFi working. It turns out somehow the cards driver had the smart card setting turned on, once I turned that off all was well. After that, I went down to the vending machine to get a cookie, because sometimes you just need a cookie. I needed more than a cookie…

Technology… Can’t live with it… Can’t live without it…

Palley arrived home from work, rolled into her wheelchair lift, and hit the button, it started up.. made a strange noise.. then POP! and sparks shot out of the motor… The earliest the repair guy can get in is Monday.

On a happier note, to cheer her up I showed off the roomba in her bedroom. She fell in love, especially when she found out it can get under the bed and into other places. “Can we get another one so I can have one down here too???” WOW! I was shocked. Then, to make things even scarier… “How’s it work on the hardwood and linoleum?” So I explained it would do fine for picking up the dust, just not mopping. “Aww to bad it can’t do that too…” 🙂 Wow, just like she was scripted or something. “Well, you know, they actually make one for that.” “What??!?!? Really!!!!” So I explained how it works, and her eye got big and lit up like a kid at christmas. “OH! YOU HAVE TO GET ONE OF THOSE TOO!!!!”

Whoever this strange being is that has replaced my mother… I like her!!!
